  • The fund is seeking to raise $200 million from 8 million shares
  • This is the second venture investment fund launched by Robinhood
  • IPO share requests can be made until August 12, 2026

Despite the somewhat rocky start of its first venture investment fund, Robinhood has announced that it will launch yet another one. Robinhood Ventures Fund II (RVII) will be launching via an Initial Public Offering (IPO) with an ambitious fundraising goal.

As per Robinhood itself, the fund will aim for $200 million via shares that will be offered this year. Publicity has already kicked off, with the official roadshow starting on August 3, 2026. Naturally, this has seen investors discuss both its past efforts at a venture investment fund and how this effort might turn out.

A Cautious Approach

The $200 million target will be raised by selling 8 million shares at an expected IPO price of $25 per share. Robinhood plans to sell 400,000 of these shares itself, while the rest will be sold by the fund.

This is noticeably lower than the $1 billion that Robinhood aimed for with its first fund, Robinhood Ventures Fund (RVI). That one launched in March of this year and raised $658.4 million at $25 per share, which was lower than its 10-figure ambitions. What’s worse, shares dropped 11% to 16% on the first trading day, closing around $21.

IPO

Eventually, momentum did pick up, with around 150,000 retail investors hopping on board. With this latest fund, Robinhood is clearly being more conservative with its goals while still promising value for money.

As per the official announcement, this fund will invest in early-stage private companies, allowing smaller investors the chance to profit from markets that would typically be closed off to them. The companies listed in the fund are current or former participants in the Y Combinator startup accelerator program. Alternatively, their founders might have participated.

Looking to the Future

Robinhood’s flagship platform has been a staple of retail investors for years, and with this announcement, the company could reach new heights.

“The next generation of promising startups is being built today. With Robinhood Ventures Fund II, retail investors no longer have to wait until a company’s IPO to be part of an early growth journey,” said Sarah Pinto, head of Robinhood Ventures.

This is part of the company’s larger mission to democratize access in the world of investing even while divesting from its original business model of traditional brokerage services. The window to request IPO shares will close on August 12, 2026.
