Ant International, the Singapore-based fintech giant and affiliate of China’s Ant Group, has announced a range of AI-native products across several functions in its international business. The company is introducing AI agents across its products, designed to handle foreign exchange, account management, and payments for several of its merchants.

AI Agents

The company, which currently runs nearly 100 different products, including cross-border payment provider Alipay+, account and treasury platform WorldFirst, and merchant services platform Antom, will now use two proprietary foundation models to support its functions. According to an official announcement, these include a payment foundation model (Antom 3-in-1 Transformer), plus a time-series transformer (TST) forecasting model for FX and liquidity (FalconTST). In addition, Ant International will use its Agentic Mobile Protocol (AMP) and a blockchain-based wholesale settlement platform (WhaleRTP).

Preparing Merchants for the Future

Ant says that via Antom, more than 89% of its merchants are already using AI agents, with 81.4% using AI to perform payment tasks. The company also says clients want access to fintech solutions useful for functions beyond payments.

During Ant International’s recent annual VOYAGE merchant event held in Shanghai, CEO Peng Yang explained that the focus is to prepare merchants for the future:

“The future fintech leader delivers two things: a future-ready trust infrastructure and foundational FinAI models that combine complex types of deep data and rich domain expertise, and a full stack of connected AI-native solutions across payment, account, FX, treasury and growth operations that prepare them for today and the fully agentized future.

Currently, Ant International’s combined reach is 150 million merchants across 210 markets, handling over 2 billion customer accounts. Through its varying products, the company processes more than 25 million transactions every day.

Technology Foundations

The core of the new offerings is the Antom 3-in-1 Transformer. Ant International’s announcement describes it as the only payment foundation model in the industry that can process three types of core data – sequential, tabular, and graph – at the same time. While sequential refers to behavior over time, tabular data covers structured records, and graph data shows existing relationships between entities, devices, and users. Antom 3-in-1 is built on over 10 billion parameters and can process 90 trillion data points every year.

The other model, FalconTST, is an FX and liquidity forecast model that Ant International describes as the first of its kind, built using data across several sectors, including finance, energy, retail, and travel. This creates and delivers dynamic, accurate, and reliable FX forecasts that help ensure liquidity and reduce potential risks. Built on more than 8.5 billion parameters, FalconTST’s FX and cash flow forecasts are already 93% accurate and can help to cut hedging and allocation expenses by up to 60%.

Alongside the foundation models are the Alipay+Agentic Mobile Protocol (AMP) and AgentSafePay. Ant International launched AMP in April for super apps, digital wallets, and smart devices to make payments easy for AI agents to process. Along with AgentSafePay, Ant International boasts end-to-end agent transactions across devices and easy agent integration. Nonetheless, customers can rest assured that boundaries will be strictly adhered to, and no agent will take control of any account.
